With a new case covering and chrome fittings this violet wand looks stunning. A black faux leather heavy duty covering has been used. The interior purple velvet is the original - dating from around 1930 !!!

The modern polymer coil in the hand piece allows you to use the unit for EXTENDED periods without worry of the coil overheating.

The control is removable from the case and is also covered in the same material as the case, with a bakelite fascia. It has two controls.

  • The voltage selector (120V and 240V) also acts as an on / off switch - although we do recommend that you unplug the unit when not in use
  • The Power control winch ranges from zero to moderately low to high. For the technically minded, this adjusts the gap and tension between the contact breakers rather than say a rheostat.

Naturally we have restored and fully checked the electrics and brought them up to the highest possible standards for a unit of this age. Internal wiring has been double insulated, good cable retention (push in / pull out) for the mains cable, new capacitor and re tuned the unit.

*Double Insulated means that inside each of the straight glass tubes is an inner tube where the electricity flows. Thus the gap between the inner and outer glass tube provides a degree of insulation - so it is only the tip which is active rather than the whole electrode. This is very useful when they were originally used internally (mouth, ears and other places)

We can also fit any plug you like (within reason but does cover most of the world)
